The City of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas wanted to have the best Independence Day Celebration ever on July 4, 2023, and had worked with Magic in the Sky Fireworks in previous years. We all knew each other, and agreed that adding lasers to the show would put it over the top! The driving range at Fair Oaks Ranch Golf & Country Club was offered as the venue, and after a quick trip over to the site, I agreed! There was plenty of room for the green, all of the lasers, and the fireworks package.
The audience was seated on the top of the driving range – the large flat area where golfers hit their practice shots. We placed all of the laser and fireworks equipment out where the golf balls land, and placed the screen for best effect. The 30′ x 20′ screen was raised by a locally sourced boom lift. The fireworks equipment was placed further out behind the lasers so that they could fill the sky, and yet still have an effect behind the laser screen.
The evening proved to be a stunning success, the driving range was packed with enthusiastic Americans, who showed their appreciation with wild applause for the laser show and fireworks. The show began with “The Star Spangled Banner” played by a local performer on solo trumpet.
