Sights and Sounds of Christmas is one of the most successful holiday festivals to be found anywhere! The event covers two sides of the San Marcos River right in downtown San Marcos. It offers a sparkling night time experience with something for everyone, from carnival rides to the historic “Bethlehem Village”.
The main stage is a permanent structure built a few years ago for many events that present musical acts. In 2014, Sights and Sounds decided to add a laser show on the main stage, to help fill in the dead spots in the action while the technicians changed over to the next act. Laser Spectacles supplied a 24′ x 16′ screen hung from a cable above the stage opening; it was possible to quickly pull out the screen and perform laser shows while work was going on backstage behind the screen, hidden from the audience.

The festival runs four four nights, so we mounted all of our five laser projectors solidly within custom weatherproof housings. The show would go on rain or shine, as long as there was an audience.
The laser show was a big hit, and really helped to fulfill the function of assisting in the changeover of acts. Not only could we perform regularly scheduled shows, but on very short notice we had some five minute shows ready to go just in case more time was needed unexpectedly.
