LasersWhiteFeaturing Tiesto as the headliner, this was a big, big electronic dance music festival on the Texas – Mexico border in El Paso.  We were providing lasers for the Beatport Stage (not Tiesto!) but certainly one of the more interesting stages – the famous “Pyramid Stage” from Onstage Systems of Dallas.

A most unusual stage.

Laser Spectacles designed a laser layout to be integrated into the structure of the Pyramid Stage, including six high power RGB laser systems (two 20W, two 10W, and 2 6.5W) provided by our partner Beamin Lasers, and one central green laser system from Beamin that also targeted mirrors mounted on the Pyramid Stage structure.  Installation and testing of all effects took two days, and we were quite happy with the results.

Shows were controlled by a Lasergraph DSP workstation situated at the stage, communicating with the MIDI controller system and operator at FOH via a wireless Ethernet setup.  Most aspects of the show were completely controlled by a custom Lasergraph DSP MIDI control program by Tim Walsh using the Behringer BCR2000 MIDI controller and a Fatar MIDI keyboard.

Disco Donnie and crew had a great photographer to document the event, Rukes at rukes.com.  Here are a few of the lasers that he captured:
