About our website...
Previous visitors will notice that we've redesigned the site to be just a little more rich in graphics and layout. Loading time, however, should be just as fast as it always was.
Most commercial websites are rich in graphics, image maps and logos, but fall short on actual content. Consequently, the typical information deficit is seldom worth the rather lengthy download process, especially in the all too common instance of large graphics from a corporate site coming through a dial-up connection in the middle of peak daytime internet traffic. While discussing a design strategy for the website with Tim Walsh, we both felt that the majority of visitors would most likely be business persons desiring to acquire company information as fast as possible who would probably have little patience for long download times.
Tim wanted the site to be available to anyone; therefore there is no special "registered members only" restricted area, which is common on some corporate websites. All our information is free. There's no registration form. And no hit counters, either!
We are currently building an image and sound gallery which will be purely optional for those who choose to view it. Tim's lasers and his shows are a truely visual and aural experience, and certain effects such as the lumia have to be seen to be believed. So we do have every intention of hogging a certain amount of bandwidth for those who have the processing power and a high speed connection.
In the meantime, we welcome any comments, suggestions, questions or constructive criticism concerning the site and its content and layout. Please feel free to take the tour, and by all means, come back again soon.
A Tour of the Laser Spectacles Website
Care to take the Grand Tour of everything that's here? This won't take long at all because there are no large graphics to download. The information is text-based, and the largest files are only about 15 or 20 kilobytes.
To reach the next page in the sequence, all you have to do is click the "next" button at the bottom of the screen. At any time, you can quit the tour and go back to the main site index by clicking on the "menu" button in the middle of the navigation bars. Review previous pages using the "back" button. This is a little different from using your browser's buttons.
The tour begins with a short biography of laserist Tim Walsh and overview of some business matters such as company awards, previous clients and safety issues. Various products produced and/or distributed by Laser Spectacles are then described. Finally, our contact information and a description of our demo video is provided, along with a list of some of our favorite links to explore.
Twice during the tour you'll come across internal links pages, one for business matters and one for products. If you'd like to stay on the tour, just click the "next" button on the navigation bar, and you'll go through each of those page's links in succession.
