The Seminole Chamber of Commerce and the County of Gaines wanted a special event honoring all of the military personnel and first responders in Gaines County. we worked together to find the venue, and plan the show, with special sections honoring: Army, Marines, Coast Guard, Air Force, and Navy; and the Police, Fire Dept., Department of Public Safety, Hospitals, EMS, and the Sherrif's Dept. The show was a 9/11 remembrance; one of the high points is the three fireman raising the US Flag. This was a dream show for a laserist/golfer! The show was to be held in Gaines County Park, in a big field like a buffer zone between the parks picnic areas and the parks 18-hole golf course. (the golf course FYI, is an unbelievable gem of an oasis in the middle of West Texas - well groomed tree lined fairways with plenty of water and bunkers) Our client signed me up for the two day tournament the weekend while I was setting up the laser show. Golf during the day, lasers at night - what a combination! Click on the following image to see it large; look way down at the other end of this panoramic view of the show site field, and you can see the screen ready to go!
We used the 30' x 20' screen between two telephone poles - the county had the poles in place when we arrived, and the screen went up in about one hour. We used one 5 Watt Krypton/Argon mixed gas laser, and two 3 Watt YAG lasers to make the show. Setup took about 12 hours. We brought our own sound system. Click on the image to see it big!
Unfortunately at show time, thunderstorms began rolling in! We started the show a little early to make sure no one got caught in the expected rain. It was an exciting show - lasers to the north, and lightning clouds to the south! You can see some of the clouds in the following picture:
