Projector Review: Laserworld PRO-2000G

This was one of the first projectors arriving from Laserworld.  It is built into their PRO-OEM projector, the small one for the Proline series.  I was immediately taken by the sturdiness, quality of construction, good looks, and the fact that the beam exited from the center of the projector, creating a nice symmetrical appearance with the exiting beams.

Laserworld provided a beam power analysis sheet of 1.7 watts, and I read the same on my old Coherent power meter.  I got a little break on the price because of lower power than spec, offered up front.

I had a problem with the beam looking a little dirty on the projection screen, but after cleaning the output window (necessitating a certain amount of projector disassembly), I was able to get a perfectly clean, tight, round beam on the screen. To me, the scanners seemed a bit out of tune, looking a little tight.  I retuned then to ILDA 24K, and thought that I was getting much better results, really quite nice and smooth..

Finally, a great opportunity came to put the PRO-2000G to the test!  A little secret rave in Austin, TX, mid-August.
We mounted the PRO-2000G on top of an upright truss behind the DJ.

Well, I was quite happy with the laser and projector, and so was everyone in attendance!   The beam quality is awesome – perfectly round, and tight to the end of the room.  There was enough power to cut through anything the lighting rig had to offer.

I was able to project the DJ’s names on the back wall.  It was a long throw (40 meters or so) but the tight beam came through.  Sorry about the camera shake.

So why laserworld? their reputation is sheer garbage.have you measured the actual power from your projector? and are the lasers all ,especially the reds, still working?

Right price, right place, right time. I visited their facility in Germany. I can communicate with them, and get instant service. No problem with the reds at all. Had to replace a 473 blue on one laser, under warranty. Actual power is exactly what it should be.

Hey im looking to invest in a laserworld laser. Are they really garbage or is that wrong.. From what I hear laserworld is quite legit. We had our interest in the revolution series. Specifically the RS-2300… any suggestions??

Laserworld is not garbage in the hands of someone willing to work on the “tweaking” of their projectors. They are designed well, put together very quickly and don’t spend much time on the alignment. We sold an RS-1000RGB recently; with a little tweaking on the beam alignment and scanner tuning, it looked fabulous, easily as good as the PL series as far as beam quality goes. And the RS series is a nice small package, easy to move around and work with. Read our review of the PL-2100RGB in the RS housing: http://www.laserspectacles.com/2010/08/laserworld-pl-2100rgb-review/
That said, the RS-2300RGB is the same as the RS-1000RGB, with a tad more green and a LOT more blue. For graphics use, you’ll have to dial the blue back to get good balanced colors; for beam use, the extra blue will be available to really get some punchy beam power. So, if you are looking to get the projector for graphics, get the RS-1000RGB.
We’ll include a free tweaking/alignment/evaluation for your projector if you purchase from us, and pay a little extra shipping.
